GRACE’s Historic Facility
The Old Firehouse

In September of 2000 GRACE acquired the Old Firehouse in downtown Hardwick, the first permanent facility for the organization. The Old Firehouse, built in 1885, is listed on the National Register of Historic Sites, and is centrally located in Hardwick’s commercial district.

The Old Firehouse provides a bright interior space for GRACE's community workshops, gallery, offices, art collections, and a central community meeting site.

Directions
The Old Firehouse is located at 13 Mill Street (Rte. 15), Hardwick, Vermont. It is across from the Post Office and adjacent to Hall's Market.

Renovations and capital improvements to the Old Firehouse have been supported by private donations and grant funding from:

  • The Preservation Trust of Vermont
  • The State of Vermont Cultural Facilities Fund
  • The Vermont Division for Historic Preservation
  • The Vermont Housing and Conservation Board
