The GRACE community workshop program serves as the hub for a wide range of educational and outreach services, and serves as a model which is often replicated at national and international venues. GRACE is dedicated to fostering the participation of many different types of people. Children, elders and community members work side by side in an open studio format. GRACE workshop facilitators promote self-teaching and emphasize individual exploration.

For over thirty years, GRACE has collaborated with numerous organizations to bring rich art programming to thousands of underserved Vermonters. GRACE conducts more than 450 art workshops annually in northern Vermont bringing artmaking to the places where people live and work: nursing homes, senior centers, mental health agenices and adult day centers. GRACE staff travel to workshop sites in five Vermont counties. In addition, each year GRACE staff conduct 150 community art workshops at its historic facility, the Old Firehouse in Hardwick’s downtown district.
